In the heart of Perigord Noir, in the Dordogne valley, the Castle of La Malartrie overlooks one of the most beautiful village of France, La Roque Gageac. Nested in a loop of the Dordogne river at the foot the high cliffs in full midday. It features an almost Mediterranean climate. History :

The site of “ La Malartrie “ dates back to the XII century. In these ancient times La Malartrie was a leper hospital and has been since transformed several times. By the end of the XIX century the Count de Saint Aulaire, Ambassador of France in the UK and a member of the French/US Cincinnati society, an institution whose objective is to promote and perpetuate friendship between the French and American people, transformed the château as it stands today in its Renaissance style.
